KOLEJ KOMUNITI TANJUNG PIAI is one of the Public Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, established during the 9th Malaysia Plan. It commenced its operations on January 1, 2008, at the Pontian Trade Centre location, offering short courses and enrolling its first full-time students in July 2008.

The college covers an area of 1500 square meters (for 3 lots of 2-storey shops) in a rented building. Situated on the coast, the college provides a conducive environment suitable for teaching and learning processes. Initially, the college was a branch of KOLEJ KOMUNITI PASIR GUDANG but attained PUSAT TANGGUNGJAWAB (PTJ) status in October 2012.

KOLEJ KOMUNITI TANJUNG PIAI offers full-time courses (Certificate in Computer Systems & Networking) as well as Short Courses based on local community needs. This establishment aligns with the mission of Community Colleges, which focuses on creating opportunities for potential development and achieving excellence for high school graduates and the local community, especially in the Pontian District.
