KOLEJ KEMAHIRAN JOHOR

The history of KOLEJ KEMAHIRAN JOHOR began with the establishment of the Pusat Latihan Kemahiran (PLK) under the Department of Social Welfare by the Kumpulan Pendidikan YPJ in 1997. The Kumpulan Pendidikan YPJ (KPYPJ) is a training institution under the Johor State Government responsible for managing the implementation of skills training activities for 4 Kolej Komuniti YPJ located in the state of Johor.

The main function of KPYPJ and the Kolej Komuniti YPJ is to conduct certificate and diploma level skill courses in various fields to enhance the skills of school leavers in preparation for seizing employment opportunities offered by industries.

On August 4, 2015, and July 10, 2017, during the meetings of the Board of Directors of KPYPJ chaired by YAB Dato’ Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, the Chief Minister of Johor, it was decided and agreed upon to change the name of Kolej Komuniti YPJ to the new name, Kolej Kemahiran Johor, and to adopt a new corporate logo. Apart from establishing a new brand, this name change is intended to prevent confusion in the community regarding the function of Kolej Komuniti under the Ministry of Education Malaysia.
